Before I begin….kind of LOLing at that red lip emoji I used in the title 😂😂. It will make more sense when you read this, haha!

I was recently asked by my friend Jenn*, who has an awesome EVER Skincare business, to take what she coined, “The Forever Challenge”. EVER recently launched a longwear liquid lip color collection. Full coverage, matte finish but none of the nasty chemicals you find in some products because all of EVER’s products are clean. (You can check out everything EVER has to offer here: EVER with Jenn Mosier

So the challenge was to wear one of the Forever colors all day. Simple and easy. Put it on in the morning when I get ready, take pics at different parts of the day, but don’t reapply because we want to see how long this lip color truly lasts! The colors are: Glam, Crush, Flirt, Party (Limited Edition), and Swipe. I chose to wear Flirt, which is the color in the center of the picture. images

I put the color on around 9:30 AM after I got back from dropping my oldest off at preschool – let’s be honest I didn’t get ready BEFORE drop off 😜😆🤣🙃! Here is what Flirt looked like right after I applied it. 930 AM

I loved the subtle brightness to the color. I also loved how easy application was. Are you ready? Prepare yourself….you just swipe it on. That’s right ladies – you just glide it right on your lips like lip gloss! It feels moisturizing and has zero stickiness! 🙌🙌🙌🙌About 4.5 seconds after this picture I took a sip of my chai tea latte (grande, non-fat, extra hot chai tea latte if we are being specific 😜.) Here was my coffee cup after:

Hardly anything came off! I was super excited. So I continued on with my day – honestly forgetting I even had anything on because it felt that natural on my lips. I took pics again at 12 (after I had lunch and had tons of water – you guys know I’m like part camel or something 💧💧💧💧💧), 3 PM, 6 PM (after I had dinner and…more water!), and 9 PM after I had taken all my other makeup off and just had Flirt left on! Here were the results:

12 PM3 PM6 PM9 PM

I mean that lip color LASTED. It even made it through a smack-you-in-the-face-while-nursing session with B-boy – his hand circled in red for dramatic effect. Brody's Hand

I loved that I didn’t have to reapply. I loved that my lips felt moisturized. I loved the color. I loved the fact that there was no weird smell or taste. I. LOVED. THIS. PRODUCT. And you guys know I’m honest – read through my blogs, if I don’t like something I say so 😂🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️. Even taking the remainder of Forever off was easy – just a little splash of EVER’s new beauty water on a cotton square and I was good to go! Beauty Water

*Jenn, by the way, is a complete ROCKSTAR. Seriously. She’s a full time stay-at-home-mom to 4 amazing kids. Two of her kiddos have Type 1 Diabetes and she is not just their caretaker but their advocate – and a GOOD one at that. Plus, she is killing it with her side gig with EVER Skincare! Hands down one of the best people you will ever meet!

Pampers. All day. Every day.

There are many overwhelming things when it comes to being a parent. It starts even before those precious little nuggets are here!👶 Did I have enough pre-natal care? Do I have the right birth plan figured out? Am I going to breastfeed or bottle-feed? Will I swaddle my baby? Co-sleep? Stay-at-home or go to work? AH!!!!! Seriously you can drive yourself NUTSO with the questions. 😖 Yes, I said nutso. Yes, it is a word….at least to me. 🤷‍♀️

So it should come as no surprise that there are also choices upon choices piled on top with questions when it comes to diapers. When we had our first son I knew that the disposable diapers were going to be the ones for us (if you use cloth diapers, you go girl! You do you when it comes to being a mama!). The hospital used Pampers Swaddlers on our baby and that is what we started buying from the get-go. I liked the comfort of having the blue line to let me know when the diaper was wet when our son was brand new. It helped give me peace of mind knowing he was getting enough milk! I kept my oldest in Pampers Swaddlers all the way through until he was out of diapers!

We continued with Pampers Swaddlers when our second baby boy came along! Loyal customer, right?! 😂😂 When our second son was 3 or 4 months old I started hearing about a Pampers Pure line. It promised to offer the same protection as the Pampers Swaddlers (because seriously those bad boys do NOT leak!) but they would be free of any chlorine bleach, fragrances, parabens and latex. As a parent you want what is best for your baby and these were claiming to be THE BEST, and clinically proven to be better for your baby’s sensitive skin.

I was always curious about these diapers and finally, at a year and some change old 🙃, I got to try them out on B-Boy! I decided to do a little experiment between my trusty Pampers Swaddlers and the new Pampers Pure line. So for 3 days I kept B-Boy in the Pampers Swaddlers and it was business as usual…haha. He SOAKS diapers up but we rarely, if ever, have had any leaky diapers with the Swaddlers 😜. I was excited to try to Pampers Pure out and was happy to discover the same fit as the Swaddlers. The biggest difference was the super cute all over print that the Pure collection has! It seems similar to what the brand Honest does on their diapers! But I have to say…about 20 minutes into the first Pampers Pure diaper I smelled pee. At first I couldn’t figure out where it was coming from because my first son is super Type-A and has never had an accident 😂. I could not figure out where the smell was coming from, but it was for sure PEE.

Then I was B-Boy! Haha the diaper did not leak but the lack of fragrance (because the Swaddlers do have a nice fresh scent to them) did not disguise the smell of pee AT ALL. So I changed him much sooner than I normally would have because, I mean, he was stinky! And it was the same thing with the next diaper. Maybe it is something that you have to get used to when you make the choice to go the all natural route when it comes to diapers but I just don’t think it could work for me. I found myself doing more frequent diaper changes (like I said, B-Boy soaks up a diaper 🤣). But I couldn’t justify spending more on a pack of diapers and going through them faster.

Here is the price comparison at Target. I could’ve looked at other stores too but let’s face it…I usually end up at Target for diapers (and other things that fall into my cart) 😂😆!

For a jumbo pack of the Pampers Swaddlers (in a size 4 like B-Boy)  it is $8.99 for 22 diapers. Swaddler

For a jumbo pack of the Pampers Pure (also a size 4) it is $11.99 for 23 diapers.

I totally get the appeal of wanting the most natural, chemical free product for your baby. I really do. But I also don’t want him to smell like pee 🤷‍♀️. I couldn’t bring myself to spend more on diapers, because let’s face it they are expensive enough right?!, that I was going to go through faster and that I wasn’t thrilled with. For me, what is best for your baby is sometimes what works best for you and your family. And for us, that is sticking with the Pampers Swaddlers!

Do any of you mamas (or anyone trying to adult 😂) remember what sleep is? Not just the few hours here and there – I’m talking the worry-free, full-night, uninterrupted kind of sleep! 😴😴😴 Anyone? Anyone know what I am talking about??

No? Ugh, me either. This mama needs a little boost in the mornings (and sometimes mid-morning, afternoons, early evening 😆😆!) And honestly, sometimes making a pot of coffee in the morning just doesn’t have a spot on my to-do list! I need an instant jolt of energy, something to get me going with my day so I’m not a TOTAL mombie in the preschool parking lot 🧟‍♀️  <— does this emoji look like a girl zombie? It looks weird on my computer but I’m just going to roll with it.)

And that is why I have been loving V8+ENERGY Drinks! 1 can has 80 mg of caffeine, which is comparable to an 8 oz. cup of brewed coffee. V8+ENERGY uses green tea as the caffeine source so the energy you get from these is lasting! Each can is 1 full serving of fruit & veggies and there are no added sugars.

They have a wide variety of flavors as well as diet and sparkling versions of the energy drink. You can view the whole selection here: V8+ENERGY

I was lucky enough to test 4: Peach Mango, Orange Pineapple, Pomegranate Blueberry, and Tropical Green.

Peach Mango: So this one I knew I loved because I have been drinking it for a while! Haha it has a subtle and sweet flavor. I pop the multi-pack in the fridge while unpacking the groceries so I can enjoy them all week long. *Which reminds me to tell you guys that I definitely recommend drinking these cold or over ice!* This is the flavor that I have always purchased. I’m the type of shopper that finds something I like and I never change it. Haha, some people call that being loyal while some people call it picky. WHATEVER! I like what I like 🤷‍♀️! So I highly recommend this flavor!

Tropical Green: To be honest, this was the flavor I was least excited to try…I am like a child when it comes to trying new things (even though I’m constantly encouraging my boys to try new things, so maybe I should take my own advice?!)! I have this weird idea in my head that anything green is going to taste like grass 🤣🤣🤣 In the words of Chrissy Teigen, “goodbye new followers!” But seriously it’s like this mind over matter thing I’ve got to figure out. But you’ll be happy to know this flavor was DELISH! Absolutely will buy it at the store next time to mix up with my Peach Mango! Super yummy. I actually ended up finishing this can after I taste tested them!

Pomegranate Blueberry: We got through blueberries in our house like you would not believe. Like the giant container at Costco is gone halfway through the week! So I 100% thought this flavor was going to be my JAM. But I gotta be honest, the flavor was TART and STRONG. Definitely a BOLD flavor. I did a LIVE video tasting these in my Facebook community (Momchella: A Mommy Lifestyle Blog —> come join us there!) and my eyes started watering a little from how tart the flavor was! Haha, it’s not that it tasted bad I just wasn’t prepared for how strong of flavor this would be and I’m not sure I could regularly drink this flavor.

Orange Pineapple: This flavor was good! Definitely more my style. Had a similar subtle flavor to the Peach Mango and Tropical Green, which is what I like. I have to say if Kroger was ever out of the Peach Mango I would probably pick this one up in its place!

Overall, I love these V8+ENERGY drinks. They are a quick grab & go energy source that busy mamas will appreciate! Be sure to pick up your multi-pack at Kroger this week! They are on sale there! A 6 pack is usually $4.99 but right now they are $3.99!

Chicken Tortilla Soup – Crock Pot Style

So the weather here in good old Ohio went from like 1000000+ to cold and rainy literally OVERNIGHT. 🙃🙃🙃When I saw that the forecast showed cold, grey, rain, and nasty on repeat for the weekend I decided to whip up a favorite cold weather recipe at our house – Crock Pot Chicken Tortilla Soup!

Here is what you need:

  • 2-3 Chicken Breasts
  • 1 32 oz. Carton of Chicken Broth (Simple Truth Chicken Brother is 50 cents off at Kroger right now!)
  • 2 Original Velveeta Mini Blocks
  • 2 10 oz. cans of Diced Tomatoes & Green Chiles
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped orange bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup diced jalapeno pepper (I left these out of the crock pot and just added it to the individual bowls – like mine – who wanted a little more spice!)
  • 1 TBSP. taco seasoning
  • Fresh Cilantro

And for the toppings you will need:

  • Avocado
  • Corn Tortillas
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt
  • Sour Cream
  • Shredded Cheese
  • Fresh Cilantro

You can set your crock pot to either high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours depending on when you remember this is what you are cooking for dinner that night and how much time you have 😂😂😂.

  • Spray Crock Pot with non-stick spray or use a slow cooker liner.
  • Place chicken breasts in bottom of crock pot and cover with chicken broth.
  • Chop 2 Original Velveeta Mini Blocks in cubes and place in crock pot.
  • Add the diced tomatoes & green chiles, diced onion, chopped bell peppers, diced jalapeno (if you are adding this to the crock pot, otherwise leave to the side as a topping!) taco seasoning, and as much fresh cilantro as you’d like!
  • Towards the end of your 4 or 8 hours, take the chicken out and shred it up! With the chicken to the side, give the soup a really good stir to make sure everything is combined perfectly! Add your chicken back in, turn you crock pot to warm and prepare the toppings!

*Side note* As you know, with crock pots you pretty much just let them do their thing. But this soup needs to be stirred every once in a while, while it is cooking. Those Velveeta Mini Blocks are the reason behind this, haha! They need to be stirred as they melt down so the soup becomes one delicious, cheesy meal!

As for the toppings…

  • Preheat your oven to 375.
  • Cut 4-6 corn tortillas into strips
  • Drizzle with Olive Oil
  • Sprinkle with Salt
  • Bake for 10-15 min until strips are crrrrrrrrrrisspy!

Pour into individual bowls and top with avocado, the corn tortilla strips, sour cream, cheese and more cilantro!

Just look at this…this glorious millennial pink (see, I’m cool I said millennial😜😆) water bottle. Is it just a water bottle, though, or is it magic? This, my friends, is the S’ip by S’well Water Bottle.  S'ipYou’ve probably seen these everywhere lately – including those end caps at Target that just call your name as you walk by. You might jump back when you see the $19.99 price tag (and that is on the LOWER end of the price point for these bad boys). They range from $14.99-$34.99 depending on amount of  oz. held, pattern, type of container, etc. S’well offers kid sized water bottles, travel mugs, different sizes of water bottles – all promising to be vacuum sealed and double walled to keep the temperature of your beverage inside the bottle and not sweating on the outside of it.

Who likes picking up a water bottle that is wet on the outside, am I right?! Not this girl  🙅‍♀️🙅‍♀️

So is $20 for something that holds 15oz. of water at a time worth it? (For clarification, I’m going to focus on does it deliver on its promises given the high price tag 😏😏 Obviously the benefits of using a reusable water bottle in terms of the environment go without saying.) So let’s test it out:

7 AM: Filled this puppy up with ICE COLD water. Like freezing cold water. Then I added more ice on the top. Just to be, you know, thorough. 😎

9 AM: Checked on it – no sweating on the outside; ice was still solid on the inside.

1 PM: Took a little sip from my S’ip – water was ice ice cold but there was no sweat on the outside of the bottle.

3 PM: Still. No. Sweat. Water. Was. Still. Cold. HOW??

5 PM: THIS IS SORCERY!!! *Drinks all the water just to end the madness*

I have to say I’ve never been, you know, impressed by a water bottle until now. This S’ip Bottle is my new jaaaaaaaaaam 👏👏👏 I love how the water stayed cold literally ALL DAY but the bottle never felt sweaty! I’ve decided it has to be some sort of magic. And while $20 does seem like a lot upfront I think that might help me drink more water 😂 Like GIRLFRIEND, this thing was $20 you are going to USE IT!

Here is the link to the S’ip by S’well website where you can check out all the different types/patterns/styles of bottles and mugs! Definitely worth the $$$, in my opinion😉.

Facial Sheet Masks

I’m sure you have all seen those super interesting-looking facial sheet masks around. For a while I buzzed right by them in Target or…well actually no where else because we all know I truly only shop at Target 😂!

ANYWAY, I finally got the chance (or maybe the courage, haha) to try facial sheet masks by Miss Spa. This particular brand has a whopping 18 different formulas for sheet masks. So any type of skin problem you may be having – Miss Spa has a sheet mask for it! You can find these in the beauty section of Target and they range in price from $.99-$3.99. Each individual pack comes with 1 facial sheet mask.

BONUS – Target has a sale on these right now: Buy 3 and get 1 FREE💃🏻💃🏻! Here is a link so you can check out the whole lineup: Miss Spa Facial Sheet Masks at Target

I decided to go through the selections and pick 4 that I thought best fit my needs. I chose: Charcoal, Oxygen, 24k Gold (honestly chose this because it made me think of that Bruno Mars song), and Hydrate.

Before I go on to rate the masks listed above, please know I will not be posting pictures of the masks on my face. I planned to…but then I realized in every SINGLE pic I took, I looked like this😳:

Soooooo pictures will not be happening. And even though you may also look like the picture above I think you will find these facial sheet masks to be totally worth it!

– Charcoal ($3.99) This mask was nice! It had a cooling element to it and it promised to detoxify my skin. While it did give me minor breakouts (only 2 visible spots) I was so happy it had pulled the toxins out of my skin! I felt like the slight breakouts I had proved to me that the mask worked. I would definitely recommend the Charcoal mask – and one of my lucky readers will win one! – just be prepared for the potential breakouts that could follow.

– Oxygen ($3.99) Ohhh…..the oxygen mask…..okay so here is the thing. The package mentions “bubbling oxygen.” It. Literally. Bubbles. THE MASK BUBBLES PEOPLE. I mean it was the strangest experience of my life. I put the mask on and there were bubbles/foam/strangeness happening. Not my fave. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

– 24k Gold ($3.99) So, like I said, I tried this one because it reminded me of a Bruno Mars song, and also it promised glowing skin. Glowing skin?! Sign this mama UP! It definitely delivered on its promise to provide glowing skin. My only complaint is the literal gold/shiny residue that it left on my face. Haha so I’m not sure my actual skin was glowing…I think it was more so what the mask left on my face that was glowing, haha. 😜

– Hydrate ($.99) I LOVE this mask…LOVE LOVE LOVE! Okay, so, it is summer and I pile on the sunscreen morning, noon and night. Especially on the weekends when we LIVE at my parents pool! Haha! So my skin has been pretty dry lately. This mask has that same cooling effect that I loved with the Charcoal mask and my skin felt cool, clean and simply amazing after taking this mask off. I. LOVE. IT.

Overall, I think Miss Spa facial sheet masks are great! I would definitely recommend you READ the description on each mask carefully and make sure it is exactly what you want for your skin. But what better way to relax after a hard day with the kids than to put a mini spa treatment on for 20 min?! These will definitely be part of my regular skin care line up!

Let me know in the comments what Miss Spa Facial Sheet Mask interests you (link above!)

Hidden Veggie Spaghetti

Hidden Veggie Spaghetti

  • 1 tbs Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 pound ground turkey (or 1 pound if you like a meatier sauce)
  • 1 chopped bell pepper (any color – whatever is in your fridge! I used green!)
  • 1 cup chopped frozen spinach
  • 2 chopped Roma tomatoes
  • 1 jar of your favorite pasta sauce (we like the Classico Tomato & Basil)

  • Pour oil into large skillet on low-med heat. Add the ground turkey, onion and garlic.
  • Turn up to med heat and cook the ground turkey all the way through.
  • Reduce heat to low-med and add bell pepper and Roma tomatoes. Cook 5-7 min until peppers are soft.
  • Add jar of pasta sauce.

  • (While sauce is simmering…) Boil water in medium sized pot and add Green Giant Zucchini Veggie Spirals. Cook for 3-5 minutes then drain.

  • Serve in bowls topped with red pepper flakes and grated Parmesan cheese!

You guys know how the story goes…dinner time rolls around and you are already dreading the bargaining/bribery it could take to make your kids eat anything – especially vegetables! Luckily Camdon likes broccoli and carrots but it is a struggle to get him to branch out! This is where I had the thought that if I could HIDE vegetables in something maybe he would gobble it up with no problem! And thus, Hidden Veggie Spaghetti was born!

But speaking of spaghetti, that can be a tough one in our house. I have Celiac disease and must follow a gluten free diet. But cooking 2 entirely separate pasta dishes seems like a chore (no thank you) and getting my family to eat the sometimes questionable tasting gluten free pastas doesn’t always go over well. So I was completely over the moon when I came upon zoodles! Specifically Green Giant Zucchini Veggie Spirals! These are incredibly easy to prepare, add another vegetable to our line up, let me avoid the whole cooking multiple pasta dishes and are SO much better tasting and easier to digest with a sensitive tummy!

Just look how colorful and delicious the sauce and final product look!:

My family gobbles this up with nooo problem! Camdon even told me “Mommy I want to eat this everyday!!!!!” (Lots of exclamation points because for those of you that know Camdon he is basically a human exclamation point haha!)

Be sure to look for the Green Giant Zucchini Veggie Spirals on your next grocery run!
